About

About Me

I am an experienced psychotherapist and counsellor registered with UKCP. I currently work in private practice, following experience in the voluntary sector, schools and NHS settings.

I have a Clinical Diploma and an MSc in Transactional Analysis Psychotherapy, and I am a Certified Transactional Analyst (CTA).

Originally from the North West, I have lived in London for over 25 years. I currently practise in the Wanstead area of Redbridge (at locations that are close to Leytonstone, Ilford, Manor Park and Forest Gate) and in Upper Walthamstow.

My Approach

My training is in Transactional Analysis (TA), a humanistic therapy founded on the belief that everyone has the capacity for growth and positive change.

I offer a safe space in which you can explore your feelings, your life experiences and your relationships.

I believe that our relationships with others (both now and in the past) are central to how we function in the world and how we feel about ourselves. Therapy can help us work out who we are in relationship with other people and with ourselves, and who we would like to be.

I will help you talk through your questions and concerns, in a space where you are listened to and not judged. We will work together to help you reach greater self-understanding and self-awareness, address patterns in your thinking, feeling and behaviour that may be unhelpful, and feel more in charge of your life.

I work one-to-one and with couples on a range of issues, including:

  • Depression and low mood

  • Emotional problems

  • Stress and anxiety

  • Low self-esteem and self-criticism

  • Shame

  • Issues relating to personal identity

  • Intercultural issues

  • Discrimination

  • Relationship problems

  • Domestic abuse

  • Issues relating to narcissism

  • Issues relating to childhood

  • Issues relating to parenthood

  • Obsessive-compulsive feelings

  • Life change and life stages

  • Bereavement, grief and loss

  • Long-term and chronic illness
